Warriors’ Path State Park
Warriors’ Path State Park, nestled on the shores
of Fort Patrick Henry Lake, is one of the most
popular sites in the state for family camping,
picnicking and outdoor recreation.
Named for the park’s close proximity to the ancient
Cherokee war and trading path, Warriors’ Path State
Park has a lot to offer for a day or a vacation.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy more than 12 miles
of trails that wind through rich forests and fields.
Fall Creek Loop and Sinking Waters Wetland are
among the best trails for viewing park scenery
and wildlife. Mountain bikers will enjoy a challenging
series of rides on our mountain bike trails. Guided
horseback riding offers yet another perspective
on the park.
During the summer, park naturalists offer daily
planned activities such as guided hikes, wildlife
demonstrations, historical tours, crafts games
and evening campfire talks. The Marina offers paddleboats
and fishing boats for rent.
The park has 135 campsites, all with tables and
grills, and 94 are equipped with water and electrical
hookups. Modern bathhouses provide hot showers
and other necessities. Campsites are available
on a first-come, first-served basis.
For golf enthusiasts, Warriors’ Path State Park
has one of the finest 18-hole, Par 72 championship
golf courses in the state. A nationally renowned
Disc Golf course provides a different kind of golfing
challenge. Visitors can beat the summer heat at
the park’s Olympic-size swimming pool. Pleasure
boating and water skiing are very popular on the
lake as is year-round fishing.
