| Why isn't this race in the morning?
We understand this issue for those of you with small children, and we considered it in our planning; however, we decided on a 3:00 pm start time after several meetings with the Kingsport Convention and Visitors Bureau and Explore Downtown Kingsport (Adapt Core). The Haunted Half will be part of a new and exciting Halloween Festival in Kingsport. The downtown merchants and restaurant owners are very excited to have the half marathon runners and their families as part of the festival activities. Likewise, we are thrilled to be partnering with these merchants on this venture which we believe will grow into a huge festival over time.
Those of you with small kids, please consider bringing the “little monsters” to the Monster Dash (4:30 pm) and the Trunk or Treat (5:30ish) on Broad Street. It’s all free in a safe environment. For the adults, there will be beer and drink specials during the Halloween Happy Hour, and then the evening will really kick off with the first ever Ghoul’s Walk, a night of entertainment and “wicked” fun activities at participating restaurants (Kingsport Grocery Company, Bone Fire Smokehouse, Bus Pit, and Stir Fry).
In future years, the Haunted Half and downtown Halloween Festival will likely be on the Saturday prior to Halloween. It just so happens that Halloween is on a Saturday this year.

Good News! The Haunted Half Marathon organizers have decided to leave the entry fees unchanged for those registering at the Bus Pit on Friday and Saturday. Fees will be:

4-Person Boo to Brew Relay - $25 per team member

Boo to Brew 4-Person Relay Information:
Each team must be made up of 4 people. 1 team member must be a female.
Relay members will pass a wrist band from one team member to the next
Relay distances - 4 miles, 3 miles, 3 miles, 3.1 miles
Relay exchange zones:
Exchange 1 - Mile 4
Exchange 2 - Mile 7 (near the start/finish)
Exchange 3 - Mile 10 (very close to mile 4)
Individuals entered in the half marathon may be on a team, but must run the 1st leg (and then keep going)
